  1. That’s a shame – see you in Monaco.

Great to see some new faces signing up – welcome, hope you enjoy the racing this season!

  2. I’m sorry, I need to skip this race because I don’t know if the electric company cuts the electricity in my house or not.

Good luck all, see you at Monaco.

  3. Well, a terrible start from me but great start from my teammate. My changes to the tyre thermals seem to have been a self-inflicted wound. Quali showed I had some pace, but race was shocking – maybe the stress of server not working, Safety Car test not “ideal” etc. got to my driving. Dived in lap 7 to get rid of overheating supers (no surprise there), then I seemed to make an even bigger meal of the softs. Changed strategy to mediums for last stint and finally started driving OK, but all way too late.

Thanks to Coretex for making the race possible. We have absolutely no clue why the server wasn’t performing, but I guess it’s time to admit defeat on that front and go for a European solution with rackservice.

Pre-race will go much smoother at Monaco and a lot shorter, I promise!

  4. Quite an action packed start to the race. A shame to lose Emil so early on. Ran round in 2nd and could see that Francesco in the lead was struggling on the tyres. So much so that at the end of the backstraight I nudged him into a spin. Apologies for that. I waited so that should help when I’m up before the beak!

Went a lap longer than planned because the tyres were in good shape then came out on lap 8 right in the pack. Some good overtaking, but it was a bit of a mismatch in some cases with my fresher tyres. Also made contact with Syntax, but I was plenty alongside having licked the stamp and I was tight on the inside so couldn’t really give any more room. Not really bothered about that one.

Quiet second half of the race.

A word on tyre wear. Heat is your enemy – it raises the tyre pressures and lowers grip so you scrub more and it gets hotter etc. There’s no magic setup wand. I use pretty much standard setup except stiffer springs and a soft rear ARB is the only mechanical stuff. Oversteery aero helps as it is long fast corners that kill the tyres. Driving style is 80% of it though – it really helps the tyres if you knock it off a little bit in certain corners to keep the temp down. Better to lose a tenth in turn 3 than burn the front tyre and run wide in turn 4, losing 3 tenths.

    • It was a struggle with server issues, my PC at one point, getting everyone up-to-date with apps and a not brilliant Safety Car practice….

BUT next race will be a piece-of-cake as per normal again :)

Need to get folks to understand that with SC in place their race is not necessarily over after a crash – just jump into pits for my superfast repairs/fresh tyres, come out, get lucky with the SC and go from last to first as everyone else pits…. too many DNFs.

  5. Yes quite interesting to have that SC implemented.
Something else Bob: that fresh new OSRW app (at least for us) is also monitoring the track cuts. Is it still usefull to use the FtF rules app?

  6. Good racing but no result for me. It was enjoyable race with a full grid. So full that someone else drove my new ferrari :) My strategy was one pit-stop but it was not right decision clearly. Coret3x past me and come to the pits for his second while I come for my first. In the end cars was flying on my screen then Church who was behind me spun. I thought my ping is high then I stopped the car.
