Did my first ever lap here last night checking server OK and wow, I reckon the Mexican Government could easily sue Hermann Tilke with charges of vandalism for what he has done to this track!
It’s a shame isn’t it. What makes me sad is losing Tilke’s greatest hits – Malaysia and Turkey. He definitely peaked too soon.
I think it is the ugliest track ever, in terms of its shape :P and its a shame they couldnt do some proper additions rather than making every single corner a safe one

Am I wrong or I have read somwhere that Istanbul might come back in the calendar?
Singa is a shame too, but maybe they are still “posturing”, we’ll soon find out. I’m not mad about the track, but its such an amazing thing to do in the middle of the night through the heart of a big City.
Istanbul – I’m not sure if it’s deemed safe enough politically yet.
Time to eat a bit of humble pie – Just put in a LOT of laps trying to figure this track out and have to admit it’s quite a bit of fun once you start to hook it up.
This track is super fun, cant wait for the race!
Whatever your views are on the track (I both love and hate it at the same time), we all need to practise properly here or it could be carnage as it’s so tricky and tight.

Nope – lap 3 or 4!
Started on pole and got bumped so back in the pack, but wasn’t bothered as it was expected and plenty of laps to get back in fight. Then the phone rang, which I would normally ignore but it was the wife’s number and she was locked out. I pulled over, managing to also change the camera to TV view, opened the door and ran back.
Caught up with the pack and got back through to 2nd. Some good fights, I think only one contact moving through the pack. Nearly took out my team mate when he braked for the baseball stadium – must’ve been half an inch in it!

You did it. I made just the mistake to put one click more to the wings (front and rear) for the race setup which reduced my top speed to 320 iso 326. I did it during the qual session. As I had to stay in pit, I haven’t bern able to test it prior the race. Hence when behind you I couldn’t catch your drag. ;) Apart in S3, you had a great pace, so it was very difficult. ;)
P4 when starting from behind is not too bad… :)

Yeah, fun track to drive, but horrible to overtake with any downforce.
yh Oli i had 320 too :) and my s3 was horrible :( same for the start of S2, the slow speed sucked, i ‘gained’ all my time in the high speed :P

That was a awful, awful race for me. With the lack of preparation and the hardware problems shortly before the race, being pretty much thrown into third place after the first corner was a horrific experience. After five laps i had kind of a rythm, but most of the advantage was already gone.
Could/Should be penalised for cutting, but on most occasions i was wide and accelerating on the astroturf was definetly not an advantage.
Sry to everyone who was distracted by my horrid driving in the first few laps.
My apologies for coming out of my spin with Amereto the wrong way – was completely disoriented.
