Let’s get the VR out of the way first – no issue with driving at all. There is a lack of rear view if someone (like, say Emil) is right in line behind and because I couldn’t see him I couldn’t judge how fast he was going. I had to turn most apps off because they were annoying, so no real info on the race. It is brilliant fun – clever bit of kit.
Cool race. Started at the back but felt pretty good to judge people around me so pressed on through the field. Took an early 1 stop on Mediums and had Emil on Softs to contend with for a few laps. Cool fight going into Turn 1 side by side and not touching, but Emil knows what he’s doing. I think I was just a bit skinny on the wings so I survived the best of his Soft tyre.
Speaking of tyres, I thought it was a bit optimistic going that long on Softs so I clung on with the slower tyres in case Jan made a mistake and he seemed to run out of front left on the last lap.
Many thanks to the organisers for their work and everyone else for a great set of races this year. Really enjoyed them. Most thanks to Bob for all the time he puts in fiddling with the cars, sorting out the tracks and admin. Happy to help him win the teams’ competition – some reward for all your hard work! See you all next season!
Thanks for racing with me for the whole season. I’m so proud of this season´s title because I think I was not the fastest driver in most races. You got me to the edge of speed, especially in the second half of the season.
I had zero problems during last race. Church was behind in beginning, but DRS had low impact here and then i had some gap. I tested all possible strategies and softs were ok, just in that corner in last lap i had some lag i wasn´t counting with.
Of course, I’m sad that we haven´t won a team title with Oliver, but I hope that the experience of this season will help him succeed in the future.
It was a great pleasure to be part of this community for 5 seasons. Thank you guys :)
Yeah, some good racing this season :)
It was a good season. Big congratulations for Jan and Storm_Cloud, they showed us amazing battle in front. In the middle group we made good battles with Monolith, Elgurke, Bob, coret3x and Olivier. I enjoyed it. Finally many thanks to the organisers for their work. See you all next season!
Indeed grats to our aliens for their impressive skills. :) Great battles in the midfield. Yesterday, despite I didn’t finish (bug in the track where I was blocked and couldn’t leave my position ?), the battle with Ali (and Senne) was amazing.
A special Thanks to Bob for his hard work and support. Next season with the drivers we have actually will be very interesting…
I watched Andrzej’ youtube vid last night and horrible the way you guy’s races ended – thank God Jan didn’t get stuck there too. Anyway, guess I was right to warn everyone about that corner, but you can see it’s such a great corner that we had to use that version of the track.
Big congrats to jan, I think he was up against it this year with Storm Cloud’s race pace and the difficulties he had sometimes with the opening tyre (I was actually catching him on opening stint at Nurburgring!!).
But MUCH BIGGER CONGRATS “of course” go to the “Force India” team – blitzed the lot of you ;)
Anyway, hoping we can keep and build on this core of drivers. I’ve never been 100% comfortable with the way we drive “as a unit” in the past. It’s never been bad of course, just always felt that we sometimes took too many risks in that rush to corner 1 and beyond. Without exception you were all brilliant this season!
